Trade unions are running transport to the demonstration. There are large organising meetings for the demo, protests and street stalls taking place around the country - people are opposed to the ruthless cuts to our public services, local communities and trade union rights that this Tory government is determined to make.
The cuts of the last five years have devastated people’s lives and are destroying our society. And they’re about to get much, much worse. This action is following recent protests following the Queen’s Speech and youth and workers protesting against proposed Tory £12 billon cuts.
The main slogans of the protest are:
Affordable homes for all!
Fund our NHS!
No more cuts!
Thousands will join the protest to shout “They say cut back, we say fight back!”
The main meeting point for the protest is at 12pm, outside the Bank of England.
Protesters will then march to Parliament Square which is outside the Houses of Parliament.
